City of Navasota, Texas

A PLACE TO CALL HOME

Navasota and Grimes County has long been known as the "Land of Milk and Honey" due to the numerous dairies and beehives. While the dairies have been replaced by subdivisions and the beehives moved further out in the county, Navasota is still known as a desirable home for many. While just a few miles from the hustle and bustle of large metropolitan areas, Navasota provides a home for those desiring a return to peace and quiet in a charming setting.

"The land that I know is where two rivers collide
The Brazos and the Navasota and the big blue sky
Floodplain, freight trains, watermelon vines
If there is any place on God's green earth,
This is where I choose to die."
- verse from "Take `Em Away" by Old Crow Medicine Show (lyrics by Critter Fuqua)
