The final political forum before the Primary Election was held Feb. 25 at the Keith Civic Center. It was well attended and most of the local candidates were there or had a representative there. By the time most of you read this, the results will be in.

The program for the March 4 Civic Club meeting will be presented by Tim Unruh, an astronomer from California. The slide show will be about tektites, a rock found around Bedias and several other areas of the world. They are usually named for the area in which they are found, thus these are called bediasites. Numerous articles have been written about bediasites over the years in newspapers and magazines. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. with a covered dish dinner. Everyone is invited to attend.

Maybe we will have warmer weather before the Bedias Women’s Club Fashion Show and Luncheon on Saturday, March 27 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. It will be nice to think about spring and summer clothing instead of coats and sweaters. Tickets are $10 which includes lunch and the fashion show and are available now from Women’s Club members.

All of the Bedias Homecoming committees are working hard to prepare for the Homecoming to be held June 11 & 12, 2010. The next meeting of all the committees will be Sunday, March 21 at 2 p.m. at the Bedias Civic Center.

Happy Birthday to Faith Burditt, March 1; Betty Jo Carroll, March 2; Rachel Moreno and Tommy Lee Upchurch, March 3; Austin Acord, March 4; Dannie Silcox, March 5; and Carolyn Davis, March 7. Best wishes to all for a wonderful day and a blessed year.

Sondra Renee Burditt has serious health problems and remains in Methodist Hospital in Houston. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. Earl Druckhammer is recovering from recent surgeries and also needs our prayers. Also, please continue to pray for our military and their families as well as our country.
